The BioEnterics Intragastric Balloon (B.I.B.) is a saline-filled silicone balloon with a radiopaque valve that can be seen on x-rays.

In general the B.I.B. is indicated for temporary use in weight loss therapy for patients who have to achieve weight loss.

Gastric ulcers

Large hiatal hernia

Abnormality osophagus / stomach

Aspirine / Anticoagulants

Gastric discomfort - nausea vomiting

Feeling of heaviness in abdomen

Gastroesophageal reflux - Can be treated with medication

Balloon deflation. Obstruction of the intestine (very rare)

Gastric ulcers not seen yet with B.I.B.
